The Real-Time Millionaire! - 5 Practical steps to having 1 million naira in your account every time!

Who is the Real-Time Millionaire? This is a term I coined for someone who always has at least N1 million cash at any point in time. It refers to the ability to raise N1 million naira at any point in time.
I will share with you practical tips on, not just making N1 million but also, becoming a real-time millionaire.

1.       How much do you want?

A random group of people were asked in a survey if they needed more money to become more comfortable. 100% answered in the affirmative. But do you know that when they asked them how much exactly they wanted, more than 70% could not place a figure on exactly how much they wanted. They just needed more money!

It is not enough to just say ‘I want to be a millionaire’, how much exactly do you want? Do you know that when I was playing to get to the hotseat of ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire?’ I knew I wanted at least N1 million. Have you noticed Frank will occasionally ask contestants how much they want. Many do not know why he asks that question…the amount you want will determine what you will put in to achieving it. The amount you say (the true amount in your heart) is a measure of the quality of contestant you are, because that will also show in the effort you have put in to get there, and will show on the hotseat (oftentimes…the effort Frank will put in to help you!).

2.       How much did you write?

If you really want to be a millionaire, you must not just say it, you must write it down. Write down a specific amount down in your diary, and write today’s date next to it. This is the most important step to becoming a real time millionaire. From research, there are many people who became millionaires who didn’t plan it/write down any amount. But there is nobody who wrote down an amount who didn’t get it.

When you regularly compute your personal worth, you are also following this principle. There are some personal finance bloggers who started their blogs talking about how they will journey from being in debt to becoming millionaires in dollars. And many have gotten there already while others are almost there. Start a daily journal detailing how much you spend. Live by a budget- an ‘on-paper’ budget. Don’t leave it to chance.

If you serious about getting that amount in your mind into your bank account, write it down!

3.       How long do you want it (to take)?
You must put a date on when you want it. For example, I want N1 billion by 13/09/2017.
Do you know that if you saved N5,000 monthly after 17 years (or, in exactly 200 months), you will have N1 million? But are you willing to wait that long to have N1 million in your account? Write down your target date to achieving your goal.

What that does is that it makes you map out a feasible plan to achieving it. What it also does is that it helps you concentrate your effort. But more importantly, it makes you ‘crazy’ about achieving it. Imagine a guy who is crazily in love with a girl, how does he behave? He will stop at nothing to getting her. Fall crazily in love with your target and you will achieve it.

4.       How can you get it?
Now that you know how much you want and the latest time you want it, you have to decide what legal means you can employ to achieving your goal. Are you going to get there through your income/salary? Then you should get a high paying job. Or you can work hard to become a partner in your company.
Or, do you want to set up a business? Is it going to be online? Are there ways of making money online?

There is no millionaire who doesn’t have more than one income stream. So you have to start thinking up ways to get multiple streams of income. But before you think multiple, first get one (1) regular one. This blog will keep giving you regular ideas. But let me give you some practical ideas on raising one million naira instantly:
i)        Count to 10 and win: get 1 person to give you N1million, 2 people to give you N500,000 each, 4 people to give you N250,000 each…10 people to give you N100, 000 each, etc.
ii)       Sell a product for N100 to 10,000 people
iii)     Invest N10,000 yearly @ 10% interest compounded for 24 years
iv)     Go for a TV game show like WWTBAM and win N10 million, or a reality TV show like Project Fame, Nigerian Idols, etc, and win.
v)      Learn how to make money online
vi)     Win the lottery
vii)   Start a Farm
viii)  Learn a new skill or trade and make money from it e.g learn how to repair elevators, program, bake, make beads, etc.
ix)     Join a good multilevel marketing program and become successful at it.
Remember, you must give value to get value. If you want to be a millionaire, and always have millions in your account, find something that has made someone a millionaire, and do it better. Or, find a millionaire today and learn from him/her. The amount you have written down in (2) is your standard- Meet It!

5.       How much are you willing to give for it?
I don’t mean how much money; I mean what are you willing to sacrifice to get that amount? What sacrifices are you willing to make? Are you ready to pay the price to have it?

When I was preparing to be on the hotseat of WWTBAM, I read everything about the show. I followed the show, I followed current affairs, I even went to be a member of their audience. I played ‘audience play’ as a form of practice for fastest finger first. I registered for and won the annual ARD quiz competition in my school. I was preparing to win millions- my first millions.
Unfortunately when I was called to come for FFF, I was writing my final medical MB exam. But NO! I didn’t let that stop me. So while my friends were reading medical books, I was reading current affairs in order to win at least 1 million naira. And by the time I won N1 million, they began to call me millionaire. Thankfully, I passed my finals too.

What you want and have written down is the first step. But brace up, life will really ask and demand of you to know whether you are willing to pay the price to achieve your goal.

So, on a final note, how much do you want it? How crazy are you about it? Do you dream about getting that figure? Do you see yourself as a millionaire? Will you do what it will require of you- all that is required to get it? Dou you have a success-millionaire mindset? Have you surrounded yourself with the people, situation and materials (books, film, songs/audio books, etc) that will help you achieve it? How many people have you told? What do you tell yourself when you wake up? Are all your actions directed towards that one purpose?

When you desire success so much so that everybody that meets you can see it in your eyes, hear it in your voice and testify that your attitude and actions all point towards it…then you will get there!
See you at the next millionaires’ club meeting.
