DAY 9: Write Down Every Idea You Get – Even The Crazy, Unrealistic, Impossicant Ones!

Write down every idea you get- you don’t know which one is worth a billion dollars, or which one can help you save money down the road, or which day you will need to refer to it. As a rule since I read the book See you at the top by Zig Ziglar, where he said “An idea unrecorded is an idea often lost!” I’ve always carried with me a biro and small legal pad in my wallet. Now, I mostly just type the idea directly into my phone.

What you are wearing is an idea. What you are holding is an idea. What you are staring at and reading is an idea. What you want to become/do in life is an idea. What you are sitting or standing on is an idea. What you live in is an idea. We all get ideas every day. In fact, it is a scientific fact that up to 50, 000 different thoughts cross your mind daily, and about 5% (2500) of those are your original ideas.

Personally, I get ideas on marketing, on medicine, on saving, on nation building, on online ways of making money, on making money for my employer, on helping my relationships get better, ideas for my TV game show/reality show, ideas on my idea on how to raise a billion naira, ideas for writing articles/books, poems, songs, ideas for saving money, ideas for church growth, speech ideas, countless ideas on virtually everything that happens around me. I get ideas on different things every single day. Yes I am creative, I know. But who isn’t? The difference between me and you is probably the degree to which I consciously exercise my mind to think and generate thoughts that I can brainstorm about.

Often times, you will see me stop on the road; bring out my biro and legal pad to write.

Do you know that many ideas that were (only) seen in sci-fi films and termed fictional have become reality today? I was watching Discovery channel the other day and the title of the program (referring to the authors/film script writers) is “Prophets of Science Fiction”.

So even if your idea is insane and improbable or simply impossicant today, what of tomorrow? That idea may not be for today after all.

Science says you should go to the bathroom with a paper and biro; your best ideas/songs/thoughts will often come to you in the shower. You are more likely to have a Eureka moment there too (like Archimedes).
Ok maybe you can't write down every SINGLE one, but still write down your ideas, and find ways of using them to make or save more money. Ideas rule the world!

[On a lighter note, this article (http://www.theatlantic.com/features/archive/2014/06/secrets-of-the-creative-brain/372299/) by a neuroscientist who has studied creativity for decades links genius/creativity with mental illness. If you think Albert Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci, and many other savants were not normal/mentally sane, you are not far from the truth. Lol.]
