Today, I will show you some of my favorite bible verses on wealth and money and why they are favorites of mine.
You can also share some of yours with me, if they are different, or let me know if they are similar to your favorite verses too.
Gen 26: 1-12 (see
Vs 1-3, and then 12 KJV): And there
was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of
Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And
the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land
which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and
will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these
countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; (Vs 12) Then Isaac sowed in that land, and
received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
[Divine guidance and provision] If God directs you to a place, even if
others there are saying there is a casting down there, you will say there is a
lifting up because it is he who sustains you, not the economy of the place. (Job 22:29)
Exo 36:6 (KJV) And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to
be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any
more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from
bringing.
[Divine Provision] Starting from Chapter 35, you see Moses telling the
Israelites about the Tabernacle God has asked him to build. And after
explaining the vision to them, everyone started to give willingly till they
gave TOO much that Moses had to restrain them from further giving. I just love
the passage.
Deu 8:18
(KJV) But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that
giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he
sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
[Divine enablement] God is the source of all wealth, and
the source of our wealth. We should never arrive at the point when we attribute
his blessings in our life to our own wisdom and power.
Psa 23:1 (KJV) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not
want.
[Divine
guidance] If you belong to him, he will direct your path. And if he directs
your path, you will never lack, ever. You won't need to swindle others, cheat them or steal before you have enough.
Pro 13:7 (KJV) There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath
nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great
riches.
Prov 10:22 The
blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
[Divine blessing] If your
wealth is from God (-gotten by righteousness and not fraudulently), he will also
give you the health and peace to enjoy it.
Eccl 11:1 (KJV) Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou
shalt find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for
thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.
[Investing] I covered this in the article ‘KJV Bible verses that talkabout money and you might not know’
Pro 10:4 (KJV) He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent
maketh rich.
[Laziness leads to poverty] An Asian proverb says “A man will not fail
to feed his family who wakes up before sunrise to farm every day.” The question
is ‘How many people are disciplined and hardworking enough to wake up before 5
am every day?’
Prov 13:22
(KJV) A good man leaveth an
inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is
laid up for the just.
[Leaving a
Legacy] If you aren’t yet thinking about leaving a good legacy/inheritance for your
grandchildren, you are either already on your deathbed without any children, or
you aren’t a good person.lol
