Wow! It's already one (1) month -Sept, 19, 2014 to Oct, 19, 2014 since I began tracking my expenses on this blog.
I said on DAY 1 that my short term (1 month financial goal) was to reduce my expenditure to 50% of income and save at least 10% of my income in one month, and I was supposed to publish this on sat 25th, October. But I decided to do it today since it is already one month since I started.
While I missed the first target, I achieved the second goal though. I spent 63% of the total money I earned in the month in review which keeps me within my general rule of not spending more than 70% of my income no matter what (from the book The Richest Man In Babylon).
Well, looking at the income and expenditure for the month in review, I fell short of spending less than 50% of my income, no thanks to some online expenses. And it also seems like I have to reduce how much I am giving to the Telcoms (most of that went to data subscription anyway but I have gotten a cheaper alternative now).
Next month, I hope to meet the first part of the target. And see if I can increase my savings.
