I am a typical Nigerian Guy and a sharp one too. And just like you, I want to get rich quick, very rich…quickly. I have seen people drive fanciful fast cars and I want to be like them, right now! But I don’t want to defraud people or steal. So I set out to get rich quick in every legal means I could find. I did wonder bank in those days, I played Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, I traded forex, I did HYIPs, I bet on football games, etc. I did have some success, in some cases, great success. But I didn’t make so much, so I tried harder. I borrowed money but I eventually went broke. I was spending as fast as I was making the money- as if I was a ‘yahoo’ boy. I was pouring all my money into these schemes and I was losing money fast instead of getting richer. I was like a typical gambler.
Moreover, maybe you are like me too- you want to get rich real quick. You are
in a hurry; you just have to get this fast money. But you will soon find out
that to try too hard to ‘get rich quick’, for any reason will eventually leave
you broke at best, or turn you into a criminal at worst. If you know someone
who you think got rich quick but who, you can bet your life, isn’t a criminal,
and who isn’t broke in spite of spending high, then HE/SHE DIDN’T GET RICH
QUICK.
Yes, you heard me right. The fact that you know a 20-year old, or a 30-year old who has built his house and bought a car already does not mean he/she got rich quick. It only means they discovered the secret to wealth early, and it is working for them -which you either don’t know, or do not accept (or follow, if you know). But you can be like them and you don’t have to steal or end up broke. And since Fifty Cent (the rapper) didn’t die trying to get rich, you won’t either.
You too can be like the guy or lady who got rich real quick in life, legally, but you have to:
1. Have a wealth mindset: All rich people have a wealth mindset. Whether it is Dangote, or Bill Gates, or Adenuga, or the silent millionaires in your neighbourhood, they all have a positive outlook to wealth. Wealth is good. It enables you enjoy life. It puts you in a position to help more people in life. The mindset of wealth attracts wealth to you. The wealth mindset does not just desire wealth; it makes you do the things that will eventually attract wealth. You have to have it.
2. Be ready to NOT get rich quick: You are not in a race with anyone. See, there are 6 ways to get wealth real quick:
I. Inherit it/be born into a rich family [-too late for most of us]
II. Marry into it [-out of it for many of us]
III. Steal/embezzle it, or kill for it (blood money) [-not an option for some of us]
IV. Win the lottery [-not likely for almost ALL of us]
V. Become a famous superstar overnight [-If you have talent like Whizkid, Davido, etc]
VI. Or, Get rich the old fashion way- by saving regularly, investing, getting a good job, building a business, etc [-Anybody and everybody].
Of course, #6 is a paradox. But that is the most likely way for you to get rich REAL quick. While I am not ruling out the other 5 ways, #6 is the proven way more than 65% of the world’s truly, legally wealthy people today got their wealth. And it is the surest way for anyone regardless of age, height, gender, race or nationality.
3. Know that you will get there someday: there is really no hurry. I like the quote by A. A Milne; “Rivers know this, we will get there someday.”
It might take you 1 year, or 3, 5 years or even 30 years. The most important thing for you is to determine today that you will get there, and you will be surprised at how quickly you will get there. And you know the funny thing, if you ask someone who you think is already there, say Dangote, he will tell you he still has dreams he is yet to achieve, whereas you probably just wish for 1/100 of his present wealth.
Write out all the things you can do, the talents you have and the degree(s) you have. List them under two headings , for example;

If on your lists, #1 is the same, good for you, just continue doing it. But if, like the example above, they differ, you need to find a balance. Start with the #1 thing that can bring in money now, and set a goal to become an expert at it in 3 years. Then begin to develop ways in which you can monetise the other talents/passion through multiple streams of income, e.g sing for money, in the example above.
4. Start now: one of my favorite quotes is by Johann W. Von Goethe, “Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it”.
And very soon you will be Nigeria’s next multimillionaire. Oya start now-now, do quick-quick, and get rich…real quick!
